Our class name theme has been created by one of our pupils. Our classes are named after endangered animals. We believe that respecting our environment is essential and want to learn about our planet and the problems our animals currently face.

We have a range of Pupil Leaders at Swillington Primary School.

  • Digital Leaders-Responsible for ensuring our computing equipment is ready for the day.
  • School Office Leaders-Responsible for answering the main office phone and taking messages over lunch time.
  • Music Leaders-Responsible for setting up steel pans and our music sessions.
  • Play Leaders- Responsible for supporting positive play at lunch times.

Nursery Class

Polar Bear Class

Polar Bears live in the Northern hemisphere. In Polar Bear class, we have a can-do attitude, when I try I can. We are kind and caring towards our friends, and we enjoy working and learning together as one big family.

Tiger Class

Tiger class consists of Year 1 pupils. Tigers live in the Northern hemisphere. In Tiger class, we are; brave, independent, friendly and caring towards our friends. In Tiger class, we enjoy working and learning together as one big family. We all have a growth mindset, are active learners and are always eager to try new things.

Elephant Class

Hello and welcome to Elephant Class!

Elephants live in the Northern hemisphere. In Elephant class, we are; kind, helpful, friendly and caring towards others. We are each unique and together we celebrate our strengths and support each other in any way that we can because we are all part of one amazing community. In our class, Elephants demonstrate a growth mindset as they are active independent learners who enjoy learning and never give up on challenges when something is tricky - if we try, we can succeed!

Dolphin Class

Hello and welcome to Dolphin Class!

In Dolphin Class, we try our best, we learn from our mistakes, we respect each other, we work as a team and we celebrate each other's successes. The adults in Dolphin Class want the children to imagine the possibilities and be anything that they set their mind to. They make us proud everyday by their eagerness to learn and their determination to succeed.

Penguin Class

Hello and welcome to Penguins!

Penguin class consists of Year 4 children. Penguins live in the Southern hemisphere. In Penguin class: we are a team, we learn from out mistakes, we try our best, we celebrate each other's successes, we respect each other and we create. The adults in our classroom want penguins to imagine the possibilities so that they can find their talents, and the children make us proud every day by their determination to succeed!

Lion Class

Hello and welcome to Lions!

We are a Year 5 class. We can be found in the Southern Hemisphere (of the world and of our school!). In our classroom, we try to imitate some of the noble characteristics of a Lion.

We try to:

  • Be brave by facing challenges head-on but asking for help if we need it.
  • Learn from our mistakes
  • Show loyalty to our friends
  • Have respect for all living things
  • Show strength by controlling our emotions and reactions
